PROGRAM DESIGN
The Geriatric Medicine Fellowship program at Larkin Community Hospital Palm Springs Campus is designed to provide physicians with the skills and knowledge necessary to deliver exceptional medical care to elderly patients in various healthcare settings. Through hands-on clinical experiences at outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations, and home/community care facilities, fellows gain invaluable insights into geriatric medicine.
Our program offers a dynamic learning environment that fosters both clinical expertise and research acumen in geriatrics. Our mission is to cultivate highly competent geriatricians who can deliver compassionate and effective healthcare while adhering to best practices. We emphasize teamwork and aim to produce professionals who can collaborate within multidisciplinary care teams.
Specifically, our geriatric outpatient services are centered around two clinics at Larkin: the Geriatrics Continuity Clinic and the Primary Care/Family Medical Health (FMLH) clinics. Fellows have the opportunity to rotate through both clinics, providing exposure to a diverse range of cases. These clinics are conveniently located within close proximity to each other, offering comprehensive training experiences for fellows.
