  • Participate in DRAA activities as a team member.

Role Description

Brief Role Description, Requirements and Benefits

The research fellow of the Department of Research and Academic Affairs (DRAA) shall perform research contributions evaluated by the Department of Research and Academic Affairs. This fellowship opportunity is for post-grad and under-grad applicants to develop the hands-on research project development and implementation. The term of this fellowship shall be for (3) Months, (6) Months or (1) year.

Requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • Must have interpersonal skills needed to develop relationship with clinical departments, international research volunteers, and research liaisons in the Larkin Health System.
  • Must be familiar with basics of research and methods application to work with reliable clinical evidence and data, having previous research collaborations that was resulted in publications would be preferred.
  • In-person work at DRAA office at least three days a week is preferred.

 

Duties and Responsibilities shall be:

  • Participate in developing project proposals, material, and outcomes in conjunction with research liaisons, residents, fellows and faculty at Larkin Community Hospital.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with assigned Program liaisons to engage with research projects, specialty teams, and research volunteer committees effectively.
  • Facilitate collaborations between assigned research liaisons at clinical programs with Larkin Volunteer Research Network (Team 11).
  • Mediate, coordinate, and enrich the relevant research activities between DRAA and Volunteer Research Network to accelerate research projects and publications.

 

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist DRAA office manager with various study protocols and procedures.
  • Schedule weekly meetings with assigned Program liaisons to conduct the research projects using Larkin Research Volunteer Network (team 11).
  • Completes all necessary study documentation as it relates to the assigned research projects and assists in research protocols as necessary.
  • Manage communication relevant to research projects. including working with various professionals in the Larkin Research and Clinical teams.
  • Collect and/or organize study data through outreach, interviews, and data entry.
  • Recruit and screen study participants according to protocol eligibility criteria.
  • Review study protocol and obtain informed consent from study participants and other required IRB approval process.
  • Conduct routine research interviews.
  • Assist in developing a recruitment strategy for one or more studies.
  • Set up tools and procedures for data collection and study processes.
  • Prepare routine reports relating to study accrual, study trends, efficiency related issues.
  • Create and maintain clinical forms for data collection and clinical care.
  • Create and maintain compliance data for clinical trials and clinical care areas that requires IRB application and approval.
