NEUROLOGY
Welcome from the Program Director
Dear Applicants,
Thank you for your interest in the Larkin Community Hospital Neurology Residency Program, and congratulations on choosing Neurology as your specialty for postgraduate medical education. Neurology is a challenging and rewarding field, and we are delighted that you are considering our program as part of your professional journey.
Our mission is to provide a comprehensive, well-structured postdoctoral training experience that integrates cognitive and procedural clinical education in Neurology. Through a balanced emphasis on teaching, clinical service, compassionate patient care, and research, our goal is to train competent, confident, and ethical neurologists who meet the highest professional standards.
The program offers broad didactic and hands-on exposure across all aspects of Neurology. Residents are evaluated using a competency-based framework aligned with ACGME core domains, including patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, and systems-based practice. As residents demonstrate mastery of these competencies, they are progressively entrusted with greater responsibility for patient care under close faculty supervision. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates fulfill the educational requirements for eligibility for board certification in Neurology through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
We are deeply committed to fostering proficiency, professional leadership, and lifelong learning. Our program strives to develop future leaders in Neurology who excel both academically and clinically. Graduates are well prepared to pursue independent practice or advanced subspecialty fellowship training.
While our website is updated annually, we invite you to follow us on our social media platforms: Instagram and X (Twitter) @larkinneurons to learn more about our residents, faculty, and day-to-day program activities. We look forward to welcoming you to the Larkin Neurology family and sharing this exciting journey with you.
Best wishes as you take the next step in your medical career!
Sincerely,
