PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This program will provide you with a comprehensive training in the study of mental disorders, to include affective, behavioral, cognitive and perceptual disorders, in both, inpatient and outpatient settings. The program has been organized in compliance with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements. Our didactic mission will extend far beyond the context of graduating board eligible Psychiatrists for the increasing demand of our community. We are faithful in preparing you as a competent Psychiatrist with the highest academic, ethical, clinical and professional values of medicine, capable of providing an excellent healthcare to the individual through all cycles of life; emphasizing on the bio-psycho-social formulation of patient care. This training will offer you an advanced education of the highest quality, combined with teaching, clinical service, compassionate patient care and research; coupled with a passion for life-long learning. Upon the successful completion of the program, you will be eligible for certification in General Psychiatry through the examination provided by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
