Larkin Community Hospital Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation is an ACGME accredited three year residency program (PGY2-PGY4) that provides extensive clinical and didactic training in evidence based diagnosis, care, and treatment of patients in the effort to improve their function and quality of life. Our goal is to train leaders within the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation that will work effectively in teams with other healthcare professionals. In order to build the quality of leadership, knowledge, and expertise required to be successful, residents go through a range of facilities and rotations, offering opportunities for interactions with skilled professionals in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. This unique insight allows our residents to gain diverse exposure as they learn from multiple perspectives and approaches provided by esteemed health professionals in the region. Our patient population is exceptionally diverse, both diagnostically and culturally, which enables our residents to practice independently in a wide variety of settings upon graduation. Each training site is designed to meet the goals and objectives set forth by the American Board of PM&R and the ACGME. In addition, there are many opportunities to develop scholarly activity through research, teaching, and patient care. Our residents have performed extremely well on board examinations with a 99% pass rate and we find that our graduates are highly competitive for employment and fellowship positions. We hope that you find our program career enhancing as you advance towards your professional goals.
