Message from the Chief Academic Officer
Welcome to our Section of Graduate Medical Education. On behalf of Larkin Community Hospital, our Sponsoring Institution, participating sites, and in the name of our Departments of Family Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, Podiatric Medicine and Psychiatry, I would like to extend our appreciation for your interest in obtaining your Post Graduate training at our institution and affiliates.
We will be truly pleased to have the exclusive privilege to instruct our residents in the first steps of their life as real doctors; offering them the best educational experience through formal quality-assurance programs, where the didactic method, systematic research, and clinical instruction must be correctly balanced. Our didactic mission will extend far beyond the context of a required residency program in the way to obtain a medical license. We are faithful in preparing our learners as self-directed competent board eligible/certified physicians and life long learners, with the highest academic, ethical, clinical and professional standards of medicine. Our residency programs have been created within a team-oriented work setting in order to assure the best educational and clinical experiences for our residents and for the overall success of our programs. Our educational environment must fulfill the physical, emotional and educational needs of all our residents and be devoted to excellence in medical education, patient care and scholarly activity.
Again, I appreciate the interest of all the motivated candidates and applicants interested in our residency programs. We would be happy to answer any questions that you may have. I hope to get to know each of you personally in the coming year. We will be really glad you will be a member of our medical education programs and hope you will feel the same.
Sincerely,
Jose David Suarez, M.D. Chief Academic Officer, D.I.O
